A delegation from the Government of Botswana represented by the Ministry of Lands and Housing and Independent Electoral Commission made a benchmarking visit to familiarize themselves with RCMRD activities on May 24th, 2016. The delegation was led by Mr. Thato. Y. Raphaka, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands and
Housing. The visit included discussions on areas of collaboration between RCMRD and the Ministry of Lands and Housing. Of particular interest were discussions on the establishment of Land Information Management System, Land administration policy formulation, modernization of Geodetic Reference systems, and possible solutions to merge Electoral and Cadastral Databases for effective management of electoral processes in Botswana. Mr. Raphaka commended the activities of the Centre and the role played by RCMRD in National Development as well as being at the fore-front of promoting cutting edge ICT solutions. On the other hand, Mr. Gabriel Seeletso, a Commissioner at the Independent Electoral Commission noted that the partnership with RCMRD would go a long way in providing better solutions to electoral processes. Botswana is a member State of RCMRD.
