Dr. Emmanuel Nkurunziza, the Director General, RCMRD hosted Hon. Francine Tumushime, Minister of Lands & Forestry in the Republic of Rwanda. She is also the current Chair of the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) Conference of Ministers. Accompanying Hon. Tumushime was Jean Pierre Mugabo the Head of Forestry department in Rwanda. The minister and the Director General discussed cooperation between Rwanda and RCMRD, in particular, provision of satellite imagery for mapping, and the establishment of GPS reference stations and spatial data infrastructure.  

Hon. Tumushime who made a familiarization visit to the Centre on August 30, 2018 thanked RCMRD for the support they have provided to the Ministry advised that the RCMRD member States need to devise home grown solutions to achieve the green growth agenda. Dr. Nkurunziza thanked the two for coming and assured them that RCMRD” is always ready to serve you.”
