As a regional institution that deals with provision of geospatial services in Eastern and Southern Africa, what separates and makes us unique is the fact that we are tapping into the vast knowledge in Earth Observation “GEO” activities drawn from our 20 member states, thus a one stop Geo shop. Through the GeoHUB, RCMRD will come up with targeted products for the member states based on “Hot Topics” and develop prototypes to solve the societal problems. In addition, GeoHub offers a platform for mentorship in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
While collaborations are inevitable in Research and Development, GeoHUB offer a space where various experts, specialists and scientist in the Geo fields can tap into the various resources available at RCMRD in the form of collaboration, data access, product testing, hosting and leveraging on project grants among others. GeoHUB is open to anyone who have secured research grants or co-write a research proposal for funding with RCMRD.
