The first Monitoring for Environment and Security in Africa (MESA) Policy Dialogue Workshop is taking place in Kigali, Rwanda from 19- 20th September, 2016 following European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) user forum. The objectives of the workshop include reaching out to senior policy and

decision makers in order to promote the use of MESA services in decision making, promoting policy dialogue among MESA stakeholders at different levels, facilitating effective communication between senior technical experts and policy makers and political leaders, enhancing appropriate understanding and usage of information derived from MESA services and products by policy and decision makers in Africa and appreciating transformation of MESA products and services to policy input and decision making. The continental forum is being attended 68 participants from 27 African countries. Prof. Kiema, Director Technical Services is representing RCMRD in the meeting.
