The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in collaboration with the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) are conducting a three-week Forest Assessment Training and Validation Workshop from 9- 26th August, 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya. The training workshop is focusing on Land Use,
Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) assessments. In this partnership, RCMRD will provide the necessary facilities to enable a selected group of participants to attend a short course on Collect Earth tools and to collect and analyze data with Saiku (Statistical analysis tool) for close to 14,000 plots in the Eastern Africa region as pilot for a global network of permanent sample plots under the Global Forest Survey (GFS) project.
