The Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development’s (RCMRD) SERVIR Eastern & Southern Africa Project has appointed Dr. Kenneth Mubea and Mr. Kenneth Kasera as Capacity Development Lead and Assistant User Engagement Lead respectively. The two staff members were appointed after successful recruitment exercise that took place recently.
Dr. Mubea is joining RCMRD from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, where he was a lecturer in the Institute of Geomatics, GIS and Remote Sensing (IGGReS). He has over 10 years experience in GIS and remote sensing. He has previously worked for Google Kenya and ESRI Eastern Africa. He holds a PhD in remote sensing and GIS from the University of Bonn, Germany. On the other hand, Mr. Kasera, a Master of Science holder in Geoinformation science and earth observation from the Univeristy of Twente (Faculty of Geo-information science and earth observation (ITC), Netherlands has over 7 years experience in the field and previously worked at RCMRD as the Data officer.
