Communications and Outreach Expert
Dorah has a strong background in Communications, Advocacy and Development studies with over 10 years of experience in Communications and Advocacy of Environment, health, public policy and communication of development projects. Her role as Communications and Outreach Expert is to document and disseminate the impact of SERVIR-Eastern & Southern Africa by communicating to internal and external audiences the extent to which products and tools and geo-spatial technology used for decision making in environmental management help in solving society problems. Dorah enjoys writing, photography, and serving as a volunteer peer educator. She has a passion for gardening and exploring African culture & literature. She is committed to pursuing a role in which she can help people maintain their quality of life.
She has worked with youth at Digital Opportunity Trust Kenya as Communications and Fundraising Manager, at Kenya Media Programme - HIVOS Regional Office, East Africa, as well as served as the Campaign Coordinator, Health for All Project for Management Sciences for Health. This involved managing the advocacy campaign for universal health coverage in Kenya known as Health for All as part of an international movement toward universal access and coverage in low and middle income countries.
She has served in a variety of positions in civil society, allowing her to help shape or implement projects as a communications practitioner and as projects lead. A journalist who has worked in national, and global media and as a reporter and editor, Dorah holds an MA in Development Studies and a BSc.in Communications and Journalism.
