An RCMRD team visited His Excellency the High Commissioner of Botswana to Kenya Duke Lefhoko on March 5, 2021. The High Commissioner was flanked by Councelor III Mr. Tirahalo Sekao. The RCMRD team was led by the Director of Corporate Services Mr. Paul Idude who updated the High Commissioner of the thematic interventions made in Botswana.

The DCS made a presentation about RCMRD history, roles, mandate and activities as well as key action items (thematic areas) in the current strategic plan.  Discussions were made about the kind of interactions we sought with Botswana the key item being projects currently being implemented there

   *Strategic Partnerships for Research, Development & Innovation in the Natural Resource Management, Environment, Land, Academia & National Development Sector

   *Provision of Technical and Advisory Services at lower cost

   *Knowledge Management, Project Execution & Sharing of Resources/Skills with like-minded colleagues/countries

   *Training/Capacity building offered at no cost for generic courses and subsidized cost for tailor-made courses. This is training on the latest technology & methodology.

   *Servicing, Repair and Maintenance of surveying/ mapping equipment offered at no cost to government owned equipment and subsidized cost for private operators in the member States.

   *Advocacy for member States in international fora on technical matters in our areas of expertise

   *Support to member states through engagement with equipment, software & hardware vendors
